Roane County Woman burned while smoking with Oxygen
Kingston Police, Fire, and an ambulance all were sent just before 4 am today to the scene of a woman that caught herself on fire while smoking with oxygen in use.
They arrived on the scene at W. Race Street finding the woman with burns on her head. There was no fire damage to the building she was in.
Kingston Fire Chief Willie Golden told Dudley Evans the woman suffered mostly facial burns.
The woman was initially taken to a local hospital and then transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center Regional Burn Center for treatment.
No word still on her current condition.
Chief Gordon stated that smoking while using oxygen could be fatal and this was a case that could have been worse.
