Oak Ridge Storm Damage Update
On Sunday, April 14, at approximately 4:15 p.m., a storm with heavy rain and strong winds hit the City of Oak Ridge. As a result, there were widespread power outages across the City with downed power lines and fallen trees.
Emergency crews have responded to numerous storm damage calls including a roof that was partially blown off a building on Warehouse Road. Multiple trees have also fallen on buildings, houses and across roads. One woman was struck by a falling tree at her home on Nesper Road. She was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
All power is expected to be restored to homes and businesses soon. Drivers should be aware that many traffic control signals are not functioning. Crews are working on repairs.
