Ray Joseph Alcorn, Oliver Springs

Ray Joseph Alcorn, of Oliver Springs, TN went home to be with the Lord Friday, February 8, 2019 at the Methodist Medical Center.

Born on the top of Windrock Mountain in Oliver Springs, TN, January, 27, 1933, to Reverend Frank and Catherine Alcorn.

Ray grew up on Windrock Mountain and moved just outside of Oliver Springs at about age 12. He and Bess married in 1954, where they began the rest of their lives together.

Through his life, Ray was always infatuated with machinery and woodworking. He enjoyed the outdoors, where he loved to ride his bicycle. He was a kind man, very empathetic to others.

Ray will be sorely missed by family and friends alike. However, they rest easy knowing he has gone home to be with our lord and savior.

Ray is survived by his wife of 65 years, Bess, his children Doris Dyer, John Alcorn and his wife Becky, Randy Alcorn and his wife Wendy, and Terry Alcorn and his wife Leasa. His grandchildren; Lyndsay Rader, Amy McGill, Haley Nipper, Emily Alcorn, and Cameron Alcorn and 5 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 13, 2019 between the hours of 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm at Premier Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs. The funeral will follow at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Joe Samples officiating. Burial and graveside services will be held following the funeral at Orchard View Baptist Church Cemetery.
